GS1 is a non-profit standards organization whose main goal is to bring transparency and efficiency to the supply chain. GS1 Healthcare envisions a future in which the healthcare sector integrates GS1 standards into supply chain processes for all relevant items, locations and people. Its mission is to increase patient safety, supply chain security and efficiency, traceability and accurate data synchronization in healthcare.
The group brings together all related healthcare stakeholders, to lead the successful development and implementation of global standards in healthcare. It comprises pharmaceutical and medical devices manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors, group purchasing organizations, hospitals, pharmacies, logistics providers, governmental and regulatory bodies, and trade associations.
SICPA has officially become a voting member of global GS1 Healthcare. As a global voting member, SICPA will have the opportunity to contribute to the GS1 Healthcare strategy and activities and have voting rights in the development of global standards. Additionally, SICPA can participate in the Public Policy work group and have access to the Public Policy database all with the aim of contributing to the development of a world more secure for its citizens.
